The image was taken with the narrow angle camera from a distance of approximately 293,400 kilometers (182,300 miles) from Dione and at a Sun-Dione-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 22 degrees. Resolution in the image is about 2 kilometers (1 mile) per pixel.
