Surface details on Titan are just visible in this Cassini view acquired through clear spectral filters, which permit wavelengths of light from the infrared through the ultraviolet portion of the spectrum to reach the camera's detector. Also of note are bands in the atmosphere over Titan’s extreme northern latitudes. The image was taken with the narrow angle camera on February 26, 2005, from a distance of approximately 2.4 million kilometers (1.5 million miles) from Titan. The image scale is 14 kilometers (9 miles) per pixel. Contrast was enhanced in the image to aid visibility. |
