This image was taken during Cassini's closest-ever approach to Enceladus on March 9, 2005. The image was taken with the narrow angle camera using filters sensitive to visible green light. The image was acquired from a distance of approximately 23,000 kilometers (14,000 miles) from Enceladus and at a Sun-Enceladus-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 46 degrees. Resolution in the image is about 140 meters (460 feet) per pixel. |
