This image was taken during Cassini's closest-ever approach to Enceladus on March 9, 2005. The image was taken with the narrow angle camera using filters sensitive to wavelengths of infrared light centered at 930 nanometers. The image was acquired from a distance of approximately 14,000 kilometers (8,700 miles) from Enceladus and at a Sun-Enceladus-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 44 degrees. Resolution in the image is about 80 meters (260 feet) per pixel.
