This image was taken during Cassini's closest-ever approach to Enceladus on March 9, 2005. The image was taken with the narrow angle camera using filters sensitive to visible green light. The image was acquired from a distance of approximately 9,700 kilometers (6,000 miles) from Enceladus and at a Sun-Enceladus-spacecraft, or phase, angle of 43 degrees. Resolution in the image is about 60 meters (200 feet) per pixel. |
